His father still works as a general practitioner and ultimately was a big influence in his decision to pursue veterinary medicine. Dr. Gordon attended UC Irvine, earning a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. He then completed his DVM at NC State University in 2016. Dr. Gordon furthered his training with a one-year internship in Atlanta, Georgia and went on to complete a three-year residency in emergency and critical care at the Ohio State University in 2020. Following his residency, his training continued at Ohio State with a fellowship in nephrology and extracorporeal therapies under the mentorship of Dr. Cathy Langston. His areas of interest include acute kidney injury, immune-mediated diseases, sepsis, and extracorporeal therapies. Moving home to Nevada, Dr. Pratt practiced emergency medicine at the Animal Emergency Center in Reno, developed proficiency in ultrasound and soft tissue surgery, and taught at Truckee Meadows Community College Associate of Applied Science, Veterinary Technology program. In 2011, he was accepted into the residency-training program at the University of Pennsylvania. During this time, he developed his clinical passions for management of multiple organ dysfunction, severe trauma, and end organ failure. His residency allowed for exposure to advanced blood banking at UPenn and Extracorpeal Therapies (including hemodialysis, hemoperfusion, and plasma exchange) at both UPenn and UCDavis, San Diego. Dr. Pratt earned awards for Research Top Resident and Overall Research Presentation, Intern’s Mentor Award for Outstanding Teaching, and served as Chief Resident. In 2014, he completed his residency training in Emergency and Critical Care and became board-certified.
