Providing extracorporeal therapies to the family pets of northern New York state and surrounding areas. Acute kidney injury, end stage chronic kidney disease, extracorporeal toxin removal (before organ damage occurs), and therapeutic plasma exchange for immune mediated conditions. Our collaborative team consists of both Emergency and Critical Care and Internal Medicine clinicians, advanced specialty veterinarian trainees, and dedicated veterinary nurses.

Dr. Jethro Forbes, DVM, DACVECC is a member of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine Emergency and Critical Care faculty team. He also directs the Extracorporeal Therapies Unit. Professional interests include wellness coaching, veterinary extracorporeal therapies, acute kidney injury, fluid stewardship, and educating veterinarians, students, and technicians in emergency and critical care topics. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Forbes enjoys spending time with family, maintaining a 20 acre horse farm, playing hockey, making maple syrup, scuba diving, and serving his community as an Assistant Chief in the Danby Fire Company.
