Karen Poeppel

Technician

LVT

Trained at AMC, with 1 month spent in the UCDavis dialysis unit

Karen hails from suburban Chicago. She attended UC Davis for undergraduate degree then became a Registered Veterinary Technician in California. Upon graduation, she moved to NYC to endure a year-long veterinary technician internship. At the completion, she took the exam to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician in NY. During her internship, she became interested in renal physiology and learned that the AMC would be opening a hemodialysis unit. She was “the original” hemodialysis technician, and has enjoyed seeing the unit and the program grow over the years. She is a Cubs fan and will never root for New York sports teams!
