Dr. Young earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University, followed by a rotating internship at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto, Canada. She then spent four years practicing as an emergency veterinarian in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, where she developed a deep interest in the complexities of critical care medicine. Motivated by this passion, Dr. Young pursued a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Minnesota. Upon completion, she returned to DFW to serve as a critical care specialist for five years. During this time, she became increasingly captivated by kidney diseases and extracorporeal therapies. Currently, Dr. Young is a resident with the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology. She has completed Hemodialysis Academy and a fellowship in extracorporeal therapy at The Ohio State University under the mentorship of Dr. Cathy Langston. Her clinical interests include kidney and lower urinary tract diseases, toxicology, and immune-mediated conditions.
